Your child’s transition into this classroom is based not only on age and meeting developmental milestones, but on their individual progression. Your child must also be socially and emotionally ready to express their needs and wants as well as being fully potty trained.

Our Primary class is for ages 3 to 6 years old. We make sure the child’s prepared environment provides developmentally appropriate materials as well as freedom within limits.
Lessons are focused around each individual child’s interests and needs while making sure they are exposed to all areas of the curriculum. Each student will work every day on developing positive emotional, social and physical growth as well as becoming an important member of their classroom.
Hummingbird Montessori knows how important it is for your child to be prepared and normalized in the transition from Montessori to a traditional setting. This is the main reason we have bridged some traditional teachings into our Montessori classroom to ease them into a more structured environment whether they go off to Kindergarten or first grade.
We encourage them to problem solve, make independent decisions and develop a love for learning in their continued educational path. From here we watch our hummingbirds fly off into their future.
